Fish that belongs to the Sparidae family. With an oval and laterally compressed body, the Sama can reach 90 cm. It lives in waters near the coast at a depth of 2 to 200 meters in rocky or mixed sand and rock areas. Their most frequent diet is bivalve mollusks and small crustaceans, hence the flavor of their meat, which is white and compact.
